Exceptional memorial services across West London and South West London

Burial Authority Memorial Permits

Churchyards have strict rules regarding memorials which vary depending on each Diocese. At C.J. Jordan & Son we have considerable experience in Acton and surrounding areas in West London.

Every application must be made in writing on the Permit Application Form provided by us which we complete on your behalf and send to the incumbent priest in charge or, during a vacancy in the benefice, the Rural Dean.

No permission for the erection of a headstone may be granted until a period if specified has elapsed after the date of burial or interment of ashes.

If a memorial is required which has specifications outside the current churchyard rules and regulations it may be allowed through the process of a Petition for Faculty, although there are certain limitations even with this.

Experienced advice on memorials and regulations

Cemetery Authorities each have specific Rules and Regulations in respect of memorial types, dimensions and fixing methods. Many now insist on NAMM regulation ground anchor systems being an integral part of the foundation.

The permit application form must be signed by the Grave Owner. Where the owner is now deceased the Cemetery should be contacted, and the Transfer of Ownership forms be completed by the person wishing to take responsibility.

Our staff will provide information and advice, including details of fees and the necessary application forms applicable. Contact us today to find out more.
